Knoppix it’s popular distribution GNU/Linux by Klaus Knopper based on Debian. The current release includes Linux Kernel 2.6.24.4 with the support of the “suspend” KDE 3.5.9, OpenOffice 2.3.1, and more. In new distribution there was an experimental opportunity of use KDE 4.

Ian Taylor presented a new linker “gold” working to 5 times faster linker “ld”. The code has been added to GNU binutils, but is still in beta status, as tested only within Google. Linker gold still supports the x86 architecture, x86_64 and ELF format.

Finally, Klaus Schmidinger released a stable version of VDR. Among the large number of changes have support DVB-subtitles, full support for UTF-8, changes in the code for Conditional Access.
